"JHAPORDAH DUKE INSTITUTION" is not only a name but a tradition of 125 years of our pride. It has been working for the welfare of the society in the field of education, culture, sports and social reforms since 1902. It has produced so many bright scholars who have illuminated our country in a broader sense and made our society enriched in different ways. Such an illuminating process is still going on. There were so many ex-students of this Institution who sacrificed their valuable lives for the independence of our motherland from British imperialism.
Actually, this educational Institution was established in the year 1868 in the name of "MIDDLE ENGLISH SCHOOL". This Middle English School was founded at the new site, i.e. at the central place of the Block DOMJUR in the Village "JHAPORDAH" in the year 1902 ...

Jhapordah Duke institution is not only a name but a tradition of glorious 124 years. During its long journey it has to face so many ups and down yet it has been doing its work of producing students for the future and benefit of our society. It was established in the year 1902 in the central Place of Domjur block in Howrah District, West Bengal, India. In the pre-independence period Ex- students of our school played a vital role of the freedom of our country. Presently there are 1860 number of students in our school. Madhyamik section is only for boys and HS section is co-educational with Science, Commerce and Arts streams. Our school processes library, 8 Laboratories of different subjects,ICT Section, playground with stadium named (PRACHYA BHARATI STADIUM), auditorium and multi gym. Students may use these facilities for their betterment. From 8 - 11 January 2026. We going to celebrate 125th year of establishment of our Alma matter.
All serts of help and co operation are needed for the ground success of this celebration. Please join with us to celebrate these lovely event.
